Renovation Wrap Up #11: Open House

We've had a busy month! Along with our construction, we've kicked off our capital fundraising efforts!

On June 21, The David. M Carmines Foundation presented People for Parks with a check for $50,000 at the Island Rec Center Open House. This marks the beginning of People for Parks’ fundraising efforts to raise $1.2 million dollars for Equip for Fit! At the Island Rec Center.

The Island Recreation Association and DMC Foundation have partnered for 15 years to produce community events, including The Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival. The association recently renamed The Children’s Scholarship Program to The Carmines Family Recreation Scholarship Fund as the Carmines continue to excel in serving the community.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing generosity of the Carmines Foundation,” said Executive Director Frank Soule. “Our board and staff are now energized and excited to reach out to the community to fulfill the capital campaign.”
